President’s Message

As I write, we are nine months in to our self quarantine,  fires continue to destroy our state and our elections are in full swing.  Wow, what an interesting series of events.

For many in our industry, we continue to thrive, while other businesses are not so lucky.

This pandemic, if nothing else has taught me a bit more tolerance and compassion, but let’s face it social distancing sucks.  Well maybe just a little tolerance.

I am a firm believer that as companies, we will emerge stronger with a new knowledge of how to be productive while working in the chaos we call home.  The challenge will be how do we hire, train, encourage and motivate our staff and continue to feel we are a part of the group. How do we re-invent the social aspects of the company.  Without the daily banter, Work is just Work!

Not only are we electing a president this year, but as Californians we have twelve (12) propositions to decide, ranging from stem cell research to rent control.

ACEC California Government Affairs Director, Tyler Munzing, periodically reports on legislative matters for ACEC California members. If you have an interest and you are not receiving those Legislative Briefs, ACEC members can contact the ACEC California office to be added to the distribution list. Click here for access to the ACEC Califonia website to see the most recent Legislative Briefs, for a rundown of legislative affairs.

With that said the chapter board had its planning meeting in August and it’s first board meeting in September all held virtually.   Our Chapter Meeting will be held virtually on OCTOBER 21, 2020 at 12:00PM.  We will be using Microsoft Teams, so look for your invitation shortly.  Citrus Circuits will be giving a presentation on their robotics competition.

We would like to welcome three new members to the chapter:
