On February 21, I attended the 52nd Annual Engineers Week Banquet hosted by San Joaquin Engineers Council at the University of the Pacific campus. The highlight of this very well organized event was the Scholarship Award Ceremony. As the President of the ACEC Sierra Chapter, I had the pleasure of spending the evening with our sponsored award recipient, Grace Sanders and her parents.
Grace is a very bright graduating student at Fred Byer High School in Modesto. Watching her family members suffer from cancer and cancer related ailments, she made the decision to pursue a career in Biomedical Engineering and she dreams of making artificial organs one day to alleviate the pain and suffering of her fellow human being. She has applied to a number of universities in California and across the country, and expects to get accepted to her dream school. We wish her the very best!
