Synopsis

The CapCity freeway, also known as State Route 51 and Business 80 is the most congested freeway in the Sacramento region. In 2016, the freeway experienced over 2 million vehicle hours of delay at a cost of $27.5 million to the users. The freeway has five of the top 10 bottlenecks in the region. As the region continues to grow, conditions are expected to significantly worsen. Caltrans is facilitating a collaborative effort to address congestion and improve conditions for all transportation modes in and around this route from J Street to Arden Way.

Mr. Peri will present the details of the project, give up update on the project status, and discuss some of the challenges.
