Past President’s and Tim Fleming Memorial Scholarship Award Dinner– Feb. 20, 2019

Tim Fleming, Past President 1995-96

Please plan to attend our Chapter Past President’s Dinner on February 20th when we will not only recognize and honor our amazing Past Presidents (a complete list is below), but award the 2018 Tim Fleming Memorial Scholarship! The scholarship, now in its 8th year, is dedicated to the memory of one of our most accomplished and well liked Past Presidents, Tim Fleming. This year’s winners (yes! there are two) are Taneil Evans of University of the Pacific and Andrii Noga of CSU, Sacramento. Both students will be attending the meeting to receive their scholarship checks from Susan Fleming Bentley. Please come out and support these future engineers!

The evening will also include guest speaker Clark Peri, who is a Project Manager with Caltrans District 3. Clark will talk about the Capital City (CapCity) Corridor Improvement Project. This is State Route 51 (Business 80 through Sacramento) extending from I-80/Business 80 in the north to US 50/Hwy 99 in the south, and is the most congested corridor in the region.  The CapCity Project is a collaborative, interagency planning process that coordinates and prioritizes potential multimodal projects in the corridor.

The project has many partners who include Caltrans, SACOG, Sacramento County, Regional Transit, City of Sacramento, STA, Sacramento Area Bicycle Advocates, WalkSacramento, and the Sacramento Metropolitan Air Quality Management District. Come see the alternative strategies being developed for this key Sacramento Transportation Project.

If you attended this event in the past, you know that we have many special guests representing the rich history of our Chapter. This is a meeting you will not want to miss as we award two Tim Fleming Memorial Scholarships and rub elbows with the people that created our Chapter’s tradition of excellence.
