President’s Message

Hello, Sierra Chapter.

It’s hard to believe my year as the Sierra Chapter President is coming to an end. We had a complete year of events for the first time in three terms. While we had a couple of hiccups, our chapter board, admin, and member firms showed great agility and resiliency to maintain continuity of business. How’s that for some presidential lingo. I had a good time seeing friends and colleagues at the meetings and welcoming new individuals and new firms. I’m proud of the board’s efforts this year in securing a variety of speakers, collaborating with APWA and Calmentor, and contributing to our newsletters. A big thank you to the members that supported ACEC National and ACEC California events and initiatives, either through your time or donations.

A huge thank you to Debbie LoCicero, our Chapter Administrator, who takes care of all the details, coordinates with the vendors, and generally keeps us organized. Debbie was certainly top of mind as I wrote “great agility and resiliency”.

I am happy to be passing the gavel (and the responsibility for this President’s Message) to Erik Fanselau and look forward to the year ahead under his leadership. I wish the best for Erik and the incoming officers as I continue to serve the chapter as a State Director. As usual, we take a break from meetings for the summer. Don’t forget to mark your calendar for the first dinner meeting of the new year, currently planned for September 20. Hope to see you then.
