Unfortunately, the ongoing impacts of the global Coronavirus pandemic resulted in all of our monthly meetings being held virtual. On June 17, we were finally able to get out from behind our webcams for the Annual Summer Social. The dinner was held at Bennett’s Kitchen in Roseville and the 22 guests included our Board of Directors and their partners, and ACEC-CA Director Brad Diede and his wife. Most were downright giddy at the chance to visit with their friends and colleagues in 3-D. It was a fun evening of talking, laughing, eating, and catching up.

The Summer Social is the occasion when we formally pass the Chapter gavel from the outgoing president to the incoming. This tradition was missed in 2020 due to the pandemic. We made up for lost time and concluded the evening by capturing two years of the passing of the gavel. 2019-’21 President Kevin Gustorf briefly recapped the history of the tradition before passing it on to the outgoing 2020-’21 President, Jerry Jones, who didn’t waste any time passing it on to our new 2021-’22 President, Scott Lillibridge. Thanks to Debbie for setting up the event and sending everyone home with a personally boxed party favor. Welcome Scott as the new chapter President!
