Believe it or not, but April 18th is our last board meeting and dinner before we go on break for the summer. We canceled the May dinner due to its conflict with the Annual ACEC-CA Conference in Maui. Don’t worry though because we’re going to have our traditional summer social event sometime in June or July. The summer social does not involve a guest speaker, just good food, laughter, our spouses/significant others, and perhaps a poker game and tequila shots.

For those of you who are dedicated readers of the newsletter, you may recall my October message where I challenged our chapter to have at least fifty percent of our members firms attend a dinner meeting. That means we need approximately forty-three firms to participate. We have not met the challenge so far this year. April 18th is our last chance to pull it off, so let’s make it happen. Whether you’re a regular attendee or have never attended, please make a commitment to be there.

Another reason to have all, or as many as possible, of our member firms attend the April meeting is we’ll be voting on the roster for the 2012/2013 Directors, Officers and State Directors for the Chapter. Our bylaws require a member vote to officially seat the roster. Here are your nominees:

We’re always looking for eager members who would like to become active on the board. The best way to catch the eye of the nominating committee is to regularly attend the monthly dinner meetings and simply say “I’m interested.” I look forward to seeing you on the 18th and hope that I’ll be congratulating everyone for helping to meet our attendance goal.
