President’s Message

ed_hendersonWell, the end of 2011 is in sight.  We made it through another difficult economic year.  Thankfully the Holiday Season is here to rejuvenate our spirits.  There will be plenty of professional holiday mixers and family gatherings with great food for us to overindulge in.  Take advantage of each of these opportunities to build up your physical and mental strength for the challenges of 2012.  In addition to the continued challenge of operating a business during 2012, we will face another critical political year for our country.

The political marathon leading up to the 2012 election will demand all our strength to stay engaged.  Whether it’s watching debates, filtering through endless campaign advertisements or evaluating the legitimacy of the character allegations, our endurance will be tested.  Fortunately for us we have our annual ACEC-California Legislative Visit Day coming up on February 7th to get us warmed up for the race.  This is a great event for all members to engage with our state assembly and senate representatives.  Plus we will cap off the full day of politics with the annual Engineering Excellence Awards Banquet that evening.  Check out the “save the date” flyer attached to this newsletter.

Enough about politics (for now) and back to the Holiday Season.  I wish everyone and their families a Merry Christmas and a healthy and prosperous New Year.  I look forward to seeing everyone’s revitalized faces on January 6th at our joint meeting with APWA.
